Yulman Stadium had replaced the previous home stadium of Tulane Green Wave football program in 2014. The venue has a capacity of 30000 with a further expansion design in place in case there would be sufficient demand for Tulane Green Wave tickets in the future. About Tulane Green Wave

Tulane University established its football program in 1893 and basketball one some time later in 1905. The university was associated with few conferences in the past and currently the Green Wave compete in West Division of American Athletic Conference, NCAA Division I (FBS for football).A mean looking anthropomorphic wave crest has been the school’s mascot since 1964 and it’s known as Riptide. The university colours are olive green and sky blue.

LSU Tigers and Southern Miss Golden Eagles belong to the main rivals of the Green Wave.The football program has had its struggles through the years of competing. The Green Wave won nine conference titles and have an all- time record of 508-627-38.

The Green Wave took part in 12 Bowl games with their first appearance being a shutout loss to Havana Athletic Club in 1910 at the Bacardi Bowl. Their latest bowl game resulted in closely contested loss against Louisiana- Lafayette in 2013 at the New Orleans Bowl. Tulana are combined 4-8 in Bowl games.Despite lack of great success at the university, there were over 130 Green Wave players who were drafted by NFL teams including Pro Bowlers and Super Bowl champions such as Matt Forte and Eddie Murray.Forte, spent most of his career playing for the Bears before joining the Jets prior to 2016 season. He was chosen to two Pro Bowls and he is less than 1400 yards away from joining the 10000 rushing yards club which he hopes to break into during the three year contract with the Jets.

Murray, played kicker position for several teams. He spent his first 11 seasons with Detroit where he was chosen to two Pro Bowls, where he once was named Pro Bowl MVP. He was part of Dallas Cowboys team who won Super Bowl at the conclusion of 1993 season.Basketball program at Tulane went to three NCAA tournaments, each time breaking through the initial round, reaching the Round of 32 which was their best period that occurred in early nineties.

There have only been a handful of players who reached NBA from the school including NBA champion Linton Johnson who played for the Spurs in 2005. Another Green Wave player in NBA was John Williams who spent 10 seasons playing for the Cavaliers before leaving the team and playing for few more years. When he left Cavaliers he was the franchise all- time leading blocker.Tulane University has very little team success to their name but through the years their programs managed to produce some athletes who found place for themselves in the pro leagues, especially in football.
