About Soak

Soak is a famous Irish singer and songwriter. She admits that her stage name is derived from the two words “soul” and “folk”; however, the singer believes that neither of the words describes her creative works precisely. Her songs are filled with emotions and power, while her style is definitely soulful and influenced by the folk music. There is also some indie rock flair in her musical performances. Soak was born and brought up in Derry, Ireland. She has always been a child with powerful imagination and being a teenager, she was inspired by the works of ABBA and Pink Floyd. When Bridie Monds-Watson was 13 years old, she started mastering the art of playing guitar, and a year later, she formed her own band together with her friends. Soon after that she formed the Soak band that can be spelled as “kaos” in a reverse way. She started giving solo performances and adopted a new fondness for the 1970s and the Foals band. Her mother supported her and Soak started to develop on the big scene. The band was invited to a number of events where it performed its music revealing the real power of sound. Today, Soak is a successful Irish band that continues to evolve and change. In 2015, the group has released its first much-anticipated album known as “Before We Forgot How To Dream”.
