About Radio City Christmas Spectacular

The performance traditionally goes every year; the first show was on December 1993. “Flying Down to Rio”, “Silly Symphony” and “The night before Christmas” were the musicals shown on the first performance. Then it held less time, but still got an unbelievable success. Since them the director of Radio City Christmas Spectacular – Leon Leonidoff – decided that the performance should be staged more. Today nobody can imagine Christmas holidays without this show – every year it gathers million of people. Nowadays the well known dancing troupe “The Rockettes” performs all the dances during the musical. Radio City Christmas Spectacular tells the story of preparing for Christmas holidays; who Santa tries to satisfy all wishes of young boys and girls; how parents spend hours in shops in order to find the perfect present; and how children are waiting forward for this night hoping their dreams to come true. Radio City Christmas Spectacular impresses by the bright costumes of artists. The stage looks brilliant with shining dresses and luxurious suits. During the play you can hear popular songs: “Santa’s Gonna Rock and Roll”, “First Letter/Parade of the Wooden Soldiers”, “Rockin’ around the Christmas Tree”, “The Man with the Bag”, “Welcome Christmas” and many others.
