About Indianapolis Colts
Indianapolis Colts was firstly operating in Baltimore under the same name since 1953. In 1984 in a controversial move the owner of the franchise moved it Indianapolis. The team has been fairly successful winning four league championships including two Super Bowls the last one in 2006. Since moving to Indianapolis the team has advanced 16 times to playoffs and played in two Super Bowls losing the last to Saints in 2010.
The franchise’s colours are Royal Blue and White and the team’s mascot is Blue, an anthropomorphic blue horse who serves as a team’s good luck charm.
The team has been under Chuck Pagano coaching hands since 2012, including short break where the coach was recovering from leukaemia and was led by his assistant.
Defensively minded Pagano likes to play loads of man to man and tough physical coverage.
The face of the Franchise is Andrew Luck, drafted by the Colts with overall pick 1 in 2012 draft, highly accredited quarterback who set quite a few NFL records in his first three years of playing including total passing yards in first three seasons by a quarterback in the NFL history. He is said to be the most paid NFL player near future when he is due to sign his extension with the team.
He is supported by his college teammate, Coby Fleener, a very talented tight end who serves mainly as a vertical threat. Fleener was chosen by Colts in the same draft as Luck and the team’s star wide receiver TY Hilton who made his first trip to a Pro Bowl last season after spectacular season of playmaking wonders. He just signed 5 years deal with the franchise.
Defensively Colts are a mix of youth and experience with one of the top of the league cornerbacks, Vontae Davis who did not allow a touchdown pass for a whole season when opposing quarterback targeted receivers he was covering. He was named to a Pro Bowl and established himself as one of the best shutdown cornerbacks in the league.
The team can also rely on the 4th down army as the special un team likes to call themselves. Led by one of the best punters in the league, Pat McAfee and the oldest player in the NFL, Adam Vinatieri, a placekicker who won four Super Bowls (three with the Patriots) also known as Mr. Clutch, a nickname given to him for making critical field goals under the pressure including a game tying and winning kicks in blizzard conditions and in final seconds of another game.
The Colts are a team that might just explode offensively at any minute and is now constantly in talks of Super Bowl appearance in recent years.
