New Jersey born musician, singer, and songwriter, Bruce Springsteen is best known for his leading role in collaborating with the E-Street Band and is also widely known for his stamina, proven with his often lengthy shows, working class sentiments, and poetic lyrics. ?            Springsteen’s beginnings were mostly influenced by his mother, Adele Ann, who bought him his first guitars and gave him much needed support to begin his career.  He performed briefly with the trio called Earth, where he played in local clubs in New Jersey and gained experience.   Later he joined with the Steel Mill group and gained a cult following along the college circuit and gained credibility for his talents as a musician.

?After gaining mainstream recognition, Springsteen was recognized by John Diamond in 1972 and was signed to Columbia records.  Along with his New Jersey colleagues, Springsteen formed the E-Street band.  His debut album with the band, Greetings From Ashbury Park, N.J., was released in January of 1973, was well received by critics but remained slow to sell.  Springsteen’s mainstream success wouldn’t begin until the release of Born to Run in late August of 1975.  The album reached number 3 on the Billboard 200.  By the late 1970s Springsteen was writing successful hits for other bands further spreading his reach within rock and roll.

?            Overall, Springsteen has won 20 Grammy awards, 2 Golden Globes, and an Academy Award.  He is best known for his album Born in The U.S.A which would become one of the biggest albums of all time with 7 singles hitting the top 10.  He was also inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999.
