Initially competing in independent conference the team was then moved to Missouri Valley Conference and holds an all time record of 187-143-28 with three conference titles to their name.

The last game played by Creighton was a loss 33-19 to Tulsa that occurred in November of 1942. It is quite hard to find a data of any players that made it onto NFL or AFL as the program ceased many years before the Super Bowl era.

Basketball program is alive and well though, representing Creighton in Big East Conference in NCAA Division I. The basketball arrived to the university in 1916 and the very first team posted 17-3 record during their first season.

The college’s colours are blue and white, its official mascot is Billy Bluejay and the program’s main rivals are Southern Illinois and Nebraska Cornhunkers.

The programs’ most recent successful player among the NBA ranks is Doug McDermont who plays for Chicago Bulls. He was named the National college player of the year in 2014, he was NCAA scoring champion the same year, twice MVC Player of the year and twice MVC Tournament MVP and after being drafted 11th overall by the Nuggets in 2014 Draft he was traded to Bulls where he hopes to establish himself as an impactful player.

Creighton University is a fairly small college where lack of football program is well replaced by basketball and volleyball teams that provide some success shining onto the university.
