The Arizona State Sun Devils teams are placed in PAC-12 Conference in South division. Their colours are maroon and gold and they are represented by a mascot that goes by the name of Sparky.

In football the Sun Devils has played since 1897 and to date they had been awarded two national titles that the team left unclaimed. The team has won their conference 17 times and their division only once.

The Sun Devils main rival is the University of Arizona and the game between these two teams is known as ‘The Duel in the Desert’.

The university has produced plenty of players who went onto having great NFL careers; Terrell Suggs, outside linebacker is part of the Ravens team that won Super Bowl in 2013 where his team beat the 49ers 34-31. Suggs has been to 6 Pro Bowls, he was named AP NFL Defensive Player of the year 2011, he was NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year 2003 and he is a member of 100 sacks club.

Another accomplished Sun Devil amongst the NFL breed was Darren Woodson who played as a safety for Dallas Cowboys and went onto winning three Super Bowls with them as well as myriad of individual rewards such as five times Pro Bowl nomination, three times All- Pro and remaining Dallas all time leader in tackles.

Another famous name include current NBA player in person of James Harden who had been picked third overall in 2009 draft by the Thunder. Harden now plays for Houston Rockets and he has four NBA All-Star games to his name, along two All-NBA First team selections, NBA Sixth Man of the Year award, gold medal from olympic games and world cup and his number 13 jersey retired by the university.
