About Alabama Crimson Tide

The football team played its first season in 1892 and holds a record of 62 post-season bowl appearances, the Tides won 29 Conference championships and the Alabama Crimson Tide recognises 16 national titles out of 20 that were awarded to the program.

The team is located in Southeastern Conference (SEC) and are members of West Division. Their colours are crimson and white and their mascot is a fluffy elephant named Big AL.

It is worth noting that the Tides have been coached by Nick Sabah who led them to 100-18 record in last ten seasons. Sabah is a well accomplished and respected coach and many would want to see him within the NFL.

Despite the Crimson Tide having years of success as a team the program did not produce a Heisman Trophy winner until Mark Ingram was awarded it in 2009 and then Derrick Henry won it in 2015 becoming only a second Heisman winner in the history of the college.

The basketball branch were pre tournament champions in 1930 and since then they made to NCAA  Elite Eight in 2004, NCAA Sweet Sixteen 8 times and they have appeared in total 20 NCAA Tournaments.

The tides were conference tournament champions 6 times and they are Conference regular season seven time champions.

Alabama Crimson basketball players went onto winning 9 NBA championships and had been chosen to play in 6 All- Star games. There are currently four players in NBA, among them being Mo Williams, playing for the Cavaliers or NBA steals leader from 2006, and NBA All- Star game player from 2010, Gerald Wallace who is currently playing for Boston Celtics.The Crimson Tide are a good program when one thinks of future success, so it looks.
